LAS VEGAS – ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì of America announced Mark Knudson, instructor at the Construction Industry Training Council (CITC) of Washington, Seattle, Wash., received the National Construction Craft Instructor Award, at ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì's 89th Annual Convention in Las Vegas. Knudson was honored for his outstanding teaching and leadership skills.

A National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certified instructor since 1998, Knudson serves as the carpentry program department head for CITC, and has trained third– and fourth–year carpentry apprentices there for 10 years. In addition to teaching, Knudson leads meetings with other carpentry faculty and staff and coordinates the design, set–up and use of the carpentry shop.
"Mark's stellar example of preparation, exemplary teaching skills, program leadership, and promotion of community service among his students set a high standard for other faculty to follow," said Richard Bristow, executive vice president of ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì of Washington.
Knudson is a superintendent and safety director at J.R. Abbot Construction, Inc., of Seattle, Wash., a member of ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì of Washington.
ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì established the National Construction Instructor Award in 1985 to provide national recognition for outstanding instructors of ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì–accredited career and technical education programs, ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì–sponsored construction career academies, and ÉϺ£ÕÅÔ½ÀÏʦ³ö¹ì–sponsored industry apprenticeship and training programs.
